As we wrap up Q1 2025, it hit meโIโve now ๐๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ญ๐ฌ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐น๐น๐ถ๐ผ๐๐ ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ญ๐ฌ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ถ๐ป ๐ก๐ฒ๐ ๐ฌ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ ๐๐ถ๐๐.
What a journey it has been. Professionally, itโs been the ๐ผ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐๐ป๐ถ๐๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฎ ๐น๐ถ๐ณ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐บ๐ฒโscaling and growing Elliott Scott – HR search & recruitment, partnering with some of the worldโs most respected organizations, and working alongside incredible HR leaders from across the globe.
I still remember my first day in both NYC and at Elliott Scottโfull of excitement, wearing my best suit, convinced thatโs how all New Yorkers dressed. Little did I know, it was -12ยฐC (10ยฐF), and my suit wasnโt nearly enough. Walking to work felt impossible, let alone surviving in this city (๐๐ช๐ค๐ต๐ถ๐ณ๐ฆ: ๐ฎ๐บ ๐ข๐ต๐ต๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ต๐ฆ๐ฅ ๐ธ๐ข๐ญ๐ฌ ๐ต๐ฐ ๐ฐ๐ง๐ง๐ช๐ค๐ฆ ๐ช๐ฏ ๐๐ข๐ฏ 2015).
Personally, Iโve been lucky to live out my own version of the โ๐ผ๐ข๐๐ง๐๐๐๐ฃ ๐ฟ๐ง๐๐๐ข.โ From living in Manhattan and traveling the world to getting married (through COVID!) and now 21 months into fatherhoodโitโs been an unforgettable ride.
Over these 10 years, Iโve experienced the highs and challenges of growing a business in NYCโfinding office space, building and scaling teams, strengthening our HR community, and navigating life and business through pre- and post-pandemic shifts. And through it all, Iโve been fortunate to build a life here, get married, and start a family.
Iโm truly grateful to so manyโStuart Elliott, who backed me from day one, the entire Elliott Scott – HR search & recruitment team (past and present), the HR professionals Iโve had the privilege to meet, and of course, my amazing wife, Kate.
